Senior Company

The mission of the Senior Company is to act as a springboard to your dreams! Whether it is college aspirations, scholarships or a professional career, we will provide what you need to be prepared and confident. Dancers will work with guest choreographers, travel to intensives, create resumes and audition videos, and be pushed to find opportunities to compliment their strong training. They will be leaders in the studio and the standard to become!

  • Requirements: Senior Co. rehearsals (2x/wk), Ballet 7 class (4x/wk), Jazz 7 class, Tap 7 or Hip-Hop 7 class, Tumbling 7 class, Turns 7 class, and Dancers Conditioning or Pilates class, & 4 Summer Intensives plus Boot Camp

  • Routines: 2/year May audition for additional routines

  • Competitions: 1/year (1 out-of-state one required)

  • Convention: Epic Dance Fever (2 days) and 2 other

Teen Company

The mission of the Teen Company is to train dancers at a professional level of excellence. They will be exposed to guest choreographers, intensives, teamwork and leadership. Extra opportunities will be presented to enhance each dancer's training and confidence.

  • Requirements: Teen Co. rehearsals (2x/wk), Ballet 7 class (4x/wk), Jazz 7 class, Tap 7 or Hip-Hop 7 class, Tumbling 7 class, Turns 7 class, and Dancers Conditioning or Pilates class, & 4 Summer Intensives plus Boot Camp

Junior Company

Mini Company

The mission of the Mini Company is to reach new heights and apply your strong foundation of technique in new ways. You will be exposed to a high level of technique, guest choreographers, teamwork and individual growth.

  • Requirements: Mini Co. rehearsals (2x/wk), Ballet 4* class (2x/wk), Jazz 4* class, Tap 4* or Hip-Hop 4* class, Tumbling 4* class, Turns 4* class, and Dancers Conditioning or Pilates class, & 3 Summer Intensives plus Boot Camp

  • Convention: Epic Dance Fever (2 days) and 2 other conventions

The WDC Ensemble Program is an intermediate/advanced program allowing dancers to train at an intensity level of their choice. Dancers will have both convention and competition experiences, with invitation to travel.

WDC Youth Theater Troupes

Faculty: Elise Kelson, Mary Eckersley, Mindy McMaster, Ciara Steele & Guest Instructors

The Vision of WDC Theater is to create a well-rounded youth theater-training program. Giving students the opportunity to be exposed to quality training, technique, industry professionals, create lasting memories and build confidence through the arts.

Ages: Junior Theater (8-12 years old), Senior Theater (13-18 years old)

Classes: 2 days per week (1.5 hours per day-Monday, Thursday)

Inclusive Monthly Tuition (Sept 2019 - May 2020) $188 per month includes:

  • Voice, Theater, Movement & Specialty Classes

  • Professional Headshot & Resume

  • Year-end Junior Production

  • Cast T-Shirt

  • Production costume rentals

Inclusive Fee does not include:

  • Yearly Family Registration Fee $50

  • Class attire 

  • Performance shoes & tights if needed

  • Admission fees for friends & family to the Year-end Production

Curriculum:

Voice-warm-up, breath control, vocal styles, sing in harmony, understanding your voice and performance quality.

Dance-warm-up, flexibility, posture, understanding line and expression. Dance styles taught jazz, tap and musical theater.

Theater-warm-up, theater styles, improvisation, pantomime, musical focus, projection, stage direction and story telling.

Specialty-theater etiquette, stage make-up, audition technique, song selection, costume care, props, backstage and rehearsal for the year-end production
